Our aim
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We design for keyboard use, clear focus states, readable colour contrast, text that can be enlarged without breaking the layout, and screens that work on phones as well as desktops.
Adjusting the platform to suit you
Every learner screen in YourQual has an accessibility menu, opened from the round button in the bottom-right corner. From it, learners can:
- make all the text larger (Large or Extra Large);
- turn on high contrast, which darkens pale text and borders and makes buttons bolder;
- add a coloured reading overlay in one of five colours, with adjustable strength, which many people with dyslexia or visual stress find helpful.
The choices are remembered on that device. Trainers can also produce printable knowledge workbooks for learners who prefer to handwrite their answers.
You can also use your browser’s and device’s own settings to zoom, change colours or use a screen reader.
How accessible it is
We have not yet had an independent accessibility audit. We test as we build, and we know some parts may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA, for example some older PDF exports and parts of the interactive examples on this website. We are working through these, and we will update this statement when we have been audited.
Tell us about a problem
If you find something hard to use, or you need information in a different format such as large print or an accessible PDF, contact us through our contact form. If you are a learner, you can also ask your trainer or training provider, who will pass it on. We aim to reply within 5 working days.
